“Arsenal won’t win the EPL title this season.”. Can you imagine that these words came out from Andrei Arshavin’s mouth. But sorry to say, he just said this recently. Arsenal is still chasing for the English Premier League champions crown but these words just hurt so much in their effort to take down the title. Now, Arsenal is two points off Manchester United who is on the top of the table and one point apart from Chelsea.Arshavin thought that his teammates can’t complete with the others who are chasing the title. He lamented that Arsenal is lacking more mature players from other parts of world. During the pre-season signing window, Arsene Wenger just signed for one player that is Thomas Vermaelen who was from Ajax. After that, Wenger opt for Sol Campbell with a free transfer in January.

Additionally, Arsenal is losing their key players like Van Persie, Ramsey and Gibbs for a long time. Arshavin stated that without the variety of players, they will have a less diversity in attacking. So their opponents will just see their combination easily.

But have you considering Arsenal smooth performances in their recent matches, Arshavin? Arsenal had won several EPL matches in a row without their star striker, Van Persie and influential midfielder, Fabregas. This already shows that young Guns starting to become more mature in their skills and mental strength.

In same statement, Arshavin admitted that he is not as good as other overseas players like Torres, Drogba and his captain, Fabregas. He said:” I do not have a sense of stability in my game. I feel I can match them and sometimes when I catch some inspiration I show performances that are on the same level or close to them. But I still not as consistent as them.”
